That is a good article, many thanks. Every child has a different story concerning father - child relationships. To make a Dad proud is of prime importance. How often is this neglected, especially when Dad is still alive. Once a Dad has died, it is often too late and regret steps in. One can't forgive himself and lives with remorse the rest of the live. My relationship with my Dad was not always the best. One day I decided to make mends. It was incredible. We had more conversations from then onwards. Before he died he said these last words: "I'll see you in heaven." Ten days later he died and I have a good conscience. Of course, there could have been more, but living in the UK and separated by distance was only solved by phone and mail. Eyeball to eyeball is still the best.

I make this contribution to encourage anybody, who reads this, to make every effort to have a good relationship with Dad. I had to ask for forgiveness and it was saturated with tears. The one who sees the need can make a start. If I had waited for my Dad to make a move, I am pretty sure, I would live now with a lot of regrets.

Ask the Heavenly Father to help you or connect with someone you trust to make the first move, if that is you who has a damaged relationship with their own father.

Having read your blog, I can only say you really hit the nail firmly on the head. As I think of these people I was choking back my tears, I was crying because I love these people. Many of them helped me find my savior. It has sadened me to see the beginings of division, but through all this the leaders of the house have lead, displaying true qualities in how this has had to be dealt with in protecting the majority from the minority. James preached from deep in his soul with all his heart. His vision has been given him by God and he is unwavering in his path. He has nipped all this in the Bud and we will move on even stronger, running faster towards fulfill the prophecy. As a church we are certainly on a mission. I for one believe that we are the unstopable church, this is truely the house of God and the house of order and not chaos. This is the only way I know how to Honour God.

Well done. It is good to stand together in faith. This first paragraph is confirmed with Scriptures. Read Isaiah 7 v 9.

To have the word verified with scriptures is powerful. We do not have to defend God's Word. It defends itself.

Sometimes we say: 'I can't take anymore'. Do you think, that God pays attention. Some may believe, that He will and others just believe the opposite. Who is right? Now, when God promised Abraham a son, then asked to sacrifice the very son. As Isaac was on the altar, what thoughts did he have? A little earlier his father said: 'The Lord will provide'. That is faith in application.

In the very last second God will provide what He has promised. Therefore we need not despair. Our trust lies in God, who does not lie.
Faith is our part and it requires effort and trust. It demands a mental composure to follow it through. Never despair, God is always there.

This is glorious opportunity to see the wonders performed before our own eyes. That is the best way to climb to a higher level. The higher you go, the better the view, said someone. Wow.

Spifidoo

perhaps disproval wasn't the right word, I wouldn't neccessary agree that it is the Holy spirits sole responcibility to shape culture although and I know you would agree with me that keeping Jesus central to all we are doing is vital.

it just strikes me that a lot of churches including one we both belonged to would aspire to be the kind of church you mention yet cultivate a culture that means they don't have a hope of realising their aspirations.

aahh I miss hanging out at hunky dorys and debating such issues

Ooh ooh that's me that is!

Nice to read your blog old friend. I tried blogging. Got bored. Had nothing to say. Too busy bringing up kids. But then, you have 3 beautiful girls too, so I may think again...

No offence/disapproval intended, just concentrate on preaching the Cross, repentance, salvation through faith alone, by grace alone, and let God the Holy Spirit change the culture. Don't be diverted by the "next new thing." There's only ever been one thing - the Cross.

Soli Deo Gloria, and keep the faith, bro'.

I say "Stuff 'em."

"Put all in to get all out" as Tommy Harry used to say.

Do all for the glory of God, and let the bloggers, twitterers, myspacers, myfacers, facebookers, and their ilk whinge and vent their spleen as much as they like.

Do not be diverted in your path. Preach the cross. Preach repentance. Preach salvation through faith alone, by grace alone. Do whatever it takes. Be whatever it takes. Change the culture :-)

Soli Deo Gloria.

'Keyboard warriors' - love it!

I think there's a tendency for some people for people of a certain age to sort of dismiss keyboard warriors as college kids or teenagers. But it is very real. Love 'em or hate 'em, keyboard warriors are most definitely not a flash in the pan, this is a phenomenon that looks set to grow and grow.

Keyboard warriors aren't necessarily a bad thing - you only have to look at online shopping to see the power these warriors have. They will be quite vocal in what is good as well as what is bad, and when it comes to keyboard warriors, their behaviour is markedly different from traditional shoppers in a number of ways, and 'word of mouse' rules.

Rather than losing the art of debate, keyboard warriors can sometimes encourage it. It is now incredibly easy to find other like minded people nationwide or worldwide who are happy to share their points of view on certain issues, and sometimes can get together to make a stand if they feel passionately about it. Sometimes this is much easier than starting a debate down the local pub!

The key thing will be to ensure you're on the same side as the warriors. Rather than be wary of them, if we are prepared to embrace this new breed of warriors then we can really benefit from it. Web 2.0 is big business - there are around 11 million people in the UK signed up to social networking sites. In the US, Myspace is the most used site - even higher than Google. In 3 years time, 84% of people in the UK will have access to the internet, with broadband in 79% of homes. Imagine the potential if BCC could reach out to all these people...

Bring on the warriors!

PS - for all the conspiracy theorists out there who think Amazon were unfairly trying to censor certain types of titles, here's what really happened: http://community.livejournal.com/brutal_honesty/3168992.html

Hi wayne, glad the move went well. Just thinking about your words. Is there not some comfort when we look at the church in acts, the blue print for spirit filled churches making an impact in their cities. Talk about scary moments - having thousands added to the church in a short space of time must have been amazing yet extremely scary.

glad to see you back on line. Look forward to seeing you and the girls soon.
