home coming
October 2, 2007I am not a Stokie, I say this because James mentioned more than once this weekend that he is and that in relocating to Bethel he is coming home, that is fantastic for him although I am worried about the amount of oatcakes he is consuming at the moment. For Deb and myself it is different, this is a new city for us and as such can be a bit daunting,we drove around Saturday afternoon looking at a couple of houses and trying to weigh up various areas, I nearly crashed into a poor girl in a Corsa because I don’t know the road system. People I don’t know in shops keep calling me duck and until last week I had never heard of, let alone sampled an oatcake. To be honest the thought of moving house, changing jobs, finding new schools for the kids is not something we are looking forward to so it was great to walk into Bethel on Sunday morning and get such a fantastic warm and genuine welcome from everyone, people who where genuinely interested in us, offers to go for meals it felt really good, in fact walking into Bethel Sunday morning felt a little bit like home.
